Teacher & Practitioner Training

Train in the Viniyoga tradition

Study yoga the way it was meant to be passed down, in the living lineage of Krishnamacharya. Our trainings weave āsana, breath, philosophy, and the subtle body into one trauma-informed approach to teaching real people, not just leading poses.

50-Hr CE Course

Therapeutic Applications of Yoga, for certified teachers ready to work with specific needs and one-on-one. Rooted in cikitsā, yoga as therapy, it explores adapting practice for different bodies and stages of life, the pañcamaya model in context, and how breath, attention, and meditation help process stress and held emotion.

What you will study

A complete foundation, woven together rather than taught in pieces.

Yoga philosophy & ethics

What yoga actually is beyond the postures, through the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali, the Bhagavad Gītā, and the yamas and niyamas that ground a teacher's character.

Prāṇa & the subtle body

The life force and the vāyus, how energy moves through the body, and how to work with the breath to support health, steadiness, and healing.

The pañcamaya model

The five interconnected layers of a person, drawn from the Taittirīya Upaniṣad, and why addressing them together is what makes a practice truly therapeutic.

Anatomy & the nervous system

Functional anatomy and movement, and how breath and rest actually change the body and calm the mind.

Prāṇāyāma & meditation

Breathwork and bhāvana, the art of focused attention, used to cool, energize, balance, and quiet a busy mind.

Trauma-informed teaching

How to hold space safely, cue with care and consent, and adapt for real students with real bodies and real histories.

Your training is led by founder Kevala, who studied the Viniyoga tradition and yoga therapy under the personal mentorship of Chase Bossart, a student of TKV Desikachar, and trained in Ashtanga in the lineage of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Graduates leave able to teach trauma-informed, function-first yoga with confidence.

Yoga teacher training in the Inland Empire

Train where therapeutic yoga is taught as a craft. Our 200-hour teacher training and 100-hour practitioner training are rooted in the Krishnamacharya lineage, drawing on Hatha, Ashtanga (Pattabhi Jois), and Viniyoga (TKV Desikachar). Rather than memorizing a fixed sequence, you learn to see and serve the whole person: body, breath, mind, emotion, and spirit.

The curriculum moves through the philosophy and ethics of yoga, the study of prāṇa and the subtle body, the pañcamaya (five-layer) model, functional anatomy, prāṇāyāma and meditation, and trauma-informed teaching. Our 50-hour Therapeutic Applications of Yoga course goes further into cikitsā, yoga as therapy, for certified teachers who want to support individual needs and different stages of life.

Whether you want to teach professionally, deepen your own practice, or step toward becoming a yoga therapist, our trainings in Upland give you the foundation and the confidence to do it well.

Frequently asked questions

Our friendly team would love to answer your questions.

Do I need to be advanced to enroll?

No. Our trainings welcome dedicated students of all levels, not just experienced practitioners.

What is the difference between the 200-hour and 100-hour?

The 200-hour is a full teacher certification; the 100-hour practitioner track is a focused, therapeutic foundation you can build on.

Will I be certified to teach?

Yes. Graduates who complete the 200-hour training leave able to teach trauma-informed, function-first yoga with confidence.

What lineage and method do you teach?

Our trainings are rooted in the Viniyoga tradition of the Krishnamacharya lineage, with an emphasis on therapeutic, individualized practice.

Do I have to want to teach to enroll?

Not at all. Many students train simply to deepen their own practice and understanding. The 50-Hr CE training covers the same material without the teaching instructions and guides.

How long does the training take?

Length depends on the track you choose. Book an intake call and we will walk you through the schedule and options.

How do I apply?

Start by booking an intake call. We will talk through your goals and find the right training for you.

What will I actually study?

The curriculum covers yoga philosophy and ethics (the Yoga Sūtras, the Bhagavad Gītā, the yamas and niyamas), prāṇa and the subtle body, the pañcamaya model, functional anatomy, prāṇāyāma and meditation, and trauma-informed teaching. The 50-hour course adds therapeutic application, or cikitsā.

Is the training trauma-informed?

Yes. Trauma-informed teaching runs through every module, so you learn to hold space safely, offer choice and consent, and adapt for real students with real histories.
