Our Story

How our Upland yoga studio began

The Mind-Body Connection wasn't built from a business plan. It was built from a journey through rock bottom and back, and a conviction that yoga, done differently, can change a life.

Upland, California

A studio for people, not poses

We started with a simple belief: the people who need yoga most are often the ones who feel they do not belong in a yoga studio. The anxious. The exhausted. The ones carrying something they did not choose.

Our founder, Kevala, found her own way back through yoga, and what moved her most was the wish to share it. Not just the postures, but the mindfulness and philosophy underneath. To pass that on to others, she opened The Mind-Body Connection and has poured herself into building it, class by class. The method she teaches is therapeutic, trauma-informed, and rooted in the Viniyoga lineage of individualized practice.

More than 3,000 students later, that purpose has only deepened. This is yoga as healing, not performance. You come here to feel better, not to measure up.

About our Upland yoga studio

The Mind-Body Connection was born in Upland, California, out of a lived journey through rock bottom and back, not a business plan. That origin is why our authority comes from transformation, not credentials, and why everything we teach is built for the people who feel they do not belong in a typical yoga room.

Today we are a trauma-informed yoga and Pilates studio serving the Inland Empire, with a community of more than 3,000 students, a team of certified instructors, and programs that reach from your very first $10 class to advanced teacher training.
